Snail Secretion Filtrate is obtained from the secretion of the garden snail Helix aspersa (Müller). This snail species has existed for 600 million years and has adapted to extreme climatic conditions. When the snail goes into hibernation, a special secretion polymerizes and covers the entrance to its shell. This mucus protects the snail’s body.

The active ingredient, Snail Secretion Filtrate, is a rich complex for skin regeneration, and its composition contains:

  • Allantoin: Stimulates skin regeneration and possesses regenerative and anti-inflammatory effects
  • Proteins: Skin nutrition; skin smoothing; improves skin texture
  • Vitamins A, C, and E: Stimulate collagen synthesis and skin regeneration
  • Mucopolysaccharides: Moisturizing effect; protects the skin against external stress
  • Proteolytic enzymes: Supports the protease/anti-protease balance
  • Collagen and elastin: Components of connective tissue
  • Minerals: Rich in calcium carbonate

Snail Secretion Filtrate was tested on 15 volunteers with scars aged between 13 and 55. A cosmetic formulation containing 5% of this natural ingredient was applied twice daily in the scar area. The measurements were taken before and after 30 days of application.

The cutometer measurement revealed a 32% increase in skin elasticity and a 17% increase in skin moisture content following 5% Snail Secretion Filtrate. A visible improvement of the scars was observed after 30 days of treatment.

Snail Secretion Filtrate is used in anti-aging, after-sun,  aftershave, after-depilation, and moisturizing applications in 2–5% concentrations.
