Plant extracts & derivatives

Plant extract aka botanical extract-based skin care products are one of the biggest trends in the beauty industry in recent years. Being naturally balanced and dense in active ingredients, botanical extracts are excellent fighters against skin aging and inflammation. 

Canadian fir

Balsam is a volatile, resinous substance that contains benzoic, cinnamic, or similar acids. The principal balsams are those derived from the Canadian fir (Abies Balsamea).

Acacia Senegal

The gum of acacia is considered highly nutritious. During the gum harvest, the Moors of the desert are said to live almost entirely on it. It has been proven that 6 ounces is sufficient to support an adult for 24 hours.

Rich in anthocyanins, essential fatty acids, phytosterols, and vitamins, Euterpe oleracea fruit is considered one of the principal berries in the fight against aging. Hence, it is frequently referred to as the “Fountain of Youth.”

Blue Agave (Agave Tequilana) is a plant of the Agavoideae subfamily with a succulent stem cultivated for tequila production. It is a monocarpic plant that blooms only once in its life after a decade and then dies.

Lady's Mantle

In the Middle Ages, a Lady's Mantle (Alchemilla Vulgaris) was considered sacred to various Earth goddesses and later became the herb of the Virgin Mary. The herb's styptic, tissue-contracting, and astringent properties made it useful for treating wounds and stopping bleeding.

Aloe Barbadensis

Greek historian Discorides recorded the use of aloe as a healing herb more than 2000 years ago. The gel was applied externally to wounds to clear blemishes, soothe itches, and maintain healthy skin. There is a legend that Cleopatra massaged fresh aloe into her skin daily to preserve her beauty.

This Chinese plant, Angelica Polymorpha Sinensis, not to be confused with the more common Angelica Archangelica, has been used to relieve pain associated with headaches, nasal and sinus congestion, and toothache.

Cherimoya

Proclaimed by Mark Twain as "deliciousness itself" and prized by the Incas, the Cherimoya (Annona Cherimola) has grown in the highlands of Peru and Ecuador for centuries. Annona Cherimola is considered a good source of niacin, phosphorous, and thiamin.

Roman Chamomile

The Egyptians revered Common Chamomile (Anthemis Nobilis) for its virtues. Because they believed it could cure ague, they dedicated it to their gods.

Filipendula ulmaria
Meadowsweet (Filipendula ulmaria) flower extract is obtained from organically grown plants. It contains a natural aspirin-like derivative that imparts anti-inflammatory properties to irritated skin conditions.

The leaves of Burdock (Arctium Lappa) have been used externally for treating knee disorders and swollen joints. Arctium Lappa has antibacterial, diuretic, and antifungal properties, which make it helpful in washing for sores and treating acne, eczema, ulcers, and scaly skin disorders.

Argania Spinosa kernel extract is a natural skincare ingredient with fine lines and a wrinkle-smoothing effect. It instantly leaves skin tightening effects. It contains high molecular weight proteins extracted from seeds of the argan tree fruit.
