Saccharomyces/Copper Ferment

Saccharomyces/Copper Ferment is a biotechnological ingredient derived from the fermentation of living yeast cells in a copper ion-containing medium. It is a mineral-glycopeptides complex known under the trade name the Acqua-Biomin® Copper Y3.

Copper is a trace mineral that is key to the absorption and utilization of iron because it is a cofactor in several oxidative enzymes (e.g., superoxide dismutase). It helps to oxidize vitamin C and forms elastin in the skin.

In addition, copper plays a vital role in forming disulfide cross-linkages in keratinization and promoting hair growth. This mineral is critical in producing the enzyme tyrosinase, which is essential for melanin production by activating the melanocytes.

As a bioavailable source of copper ions, Saccharomyces/Copper Ferment aids in and helps maintain skin tanning. Also, it prevents this trace element deficiency that leads to weakness and skin sores.
