Shorea Stenoptera Seed Butter is obtained from the fruit of the Sal tree (Shorea Robusta). The butter is extracted, further processed, and refined from its fruit to obtain a light-colored yellow butter with a low odor and smooth texture suitable for cosmetics and toiletries.

Shorea Stenoptera Seed Butter contains mostly C18:0 and C18:1 fatty acids. Sal Butter is solid at room temperature but melts readily on contact with the skin. It has physical properties similar to cocoa butter; however, due to its uniform triglyceride composition and high oxidative stability, it may be used in higher quantities to provide stable emulsions.

Shorea Stenoptera Seed Butter prevents skin drying and wrinkle development. It reduces the degeneration of structural proteins and skin cells and restores skin flexibility.

Sal Butter exhibits excellent emolliency properties, softening effects, and good spreadability on the skin. Shorea Robusta Seed Butter is used in creams, lotions, balms, make-up foundations, soap making, lip care, and sun care products. Its use level varies from 3% – 100%.
