Triisostearin is a triglyceride ester (glycerin triester) of isostearic acid, an emollient with good caring properties. It is a highly polar and very viscous oil for cosmetic preparations compatible with other oils, fats, or silicones used in personal care applications.

Stable against oxidation, Triisostearin is a universal emollient with useful properties and a pleasant after-feel on the skin. Thanks to its outstanding cushion and spreadability, and sensorial perception it is especially suitable for lip care products, which also allows formulators to adjust the melting point of application. In addition, it lubricates and exposes a glossy lip appearance.

In skin care applications, Triisostearin is used for modification of viscosity, improvement of sensory properties, and softening effect. It eliminates the stickiness of the formula and delivers a light texture and non-greasy feel on the skin. Thanks to its skin barrier properties, this light and non-sticky emollient is used in many skin care products.

Thanks to high viscosity, excellent dispersing properties, and good adhesion to the skin, Triisostearin is also used in decorative cosmetics, lip, and sun care products improving pigment wetting and solid carrying ability of the entire formulation. It provides a rich and luxurious texture, a natural and radiant glow, and a glossy appearance.
