Triisostearin is a triglyceride ester (glycerin triester) of isostearic acid, a liquid occlusive emollient with good caring and non-migratory properties. It is a highly polar, odor-free, and viscous oil for cosmetic preparations that is compatible with other oils, fats, or silicones used in personal care applications.

Stable against oxidation, Triisostearin is a universal emollient with valuable properties and a pleasant after-feel on the skin. Its outstanding cushion, film-forming, spreadability, and sensory perception make it especially suitable for lip care products. This allows formulators to adjust the melting point of the application. In addition, it lubricates and exposes a glossy lip appearance.

In skin care applications, Triisostearin is used to modify viscosity, improve sensory properties, and soften the skin. It eliminates the formula's stickiness and delivers a light texture and non-greasy feel. Thanks to its skin barrier-enhancing properties, this light, non-sticky, and highly substantive emollient is used in many skin care products.

Thanks to its high viscosity, excellent dispersing properties, and good adhesion to the skin, Triisostearin is also used in decorative cosmetics, lip, eye-contour, and sun care products to improve the pigment-wetting and solid-carrying ability of the entire formulation. It provides a rich and luxurious texture, a natural and radiant glow, and a glossy appearance.

Triisostearin is a safe and eco-friendly ingredient. It is cold-processable, vegetable-derived, and biodegradable. It is used in self-tanning preparations, lip care, sun care, eye-toning products, and color cosmetics.
