Alpha-Glucan is a gluco-oligosaccharides (glucose units linked by specific bonds (α 1-2) and (α 1-6)) received by enzymatic synthesis (transfer reaction).
Thanks to the specificity of its inter-glycosidic bonds, Alpha-Glucan is a selective substrate for the nutrition and development of the skin's saprophytic (beneficial) flora to the detriment of undesirable opportunists flora (pathogenic or not) ready to invade the skin at the slightest sign of imbalance. This oligosaccharide re-balances, maintains, and even stimulates the skin's natural microbiota, considered to be the body's first line of defense against harmful bacteria.
