Hexapeptide-9 is a synthetic peptide that repeats a part of collagen (sequence: Gly-Pro-Gln-Gly-Pro-Gln) that stimulates fibroblasts to boost collagen and hyaluronic acid production. It improves dermal firmness and elasticity while enhancing water retention of the skin.

The action mechanism is similar to natural when the parts of fragmented collagen stimulate its production by fibroblasts. Counterbalancing a part of the aging process, Hexapeptide-9 noticeably lessens the impression of fine lines and deep wrinkles, exposing a younger, smoother, and healthier appearance.

Clinical studies showed that Hexapeptide-9 increases overall collagen production by up to 117%, particularly collagen IV by up to 357%. In addition, it enhances hyaluronic acid production by up to 267%.

In a pictorial comparative analysis, Hexapeptide-9 reduces the deep wrinkled surface area by a mean of 68%. The reduction of moderate wrinkles was by a mean of 51%.
