Although the first recorded uses of Gentian (Gentiana Lutea) in medicine are on Egyptian papyrus, the ancient King Gentius of Illyria is actually credited with discovering its medicinal value. During the Middle Ages, Gentiana Lutea was commonly used as an antidote to poison and to dilute wounds.
Gentiana Lutea has been used to treat exhaustion, digestive problems, jaundice, hysteria, nausea, and bruises. It is also known to stimulate circulation and appetite, contains vitamin B-complex, and is considered to have antiseptic and healing qualities.
Gentiana Lutea Root Extract is a light to medium amber liquid with a characteristic odor. It is soluble in any proportion in water, and the pH range of the solution is 4.0 - 6.5 at 25°C.
Gentiana Lutea Root Extract is used in creams, lotions, moisturizers, gels, toners, and skin-enhancing products. Gentian's soothing qualities can also benefit after-sun and bath care products.Synonyms
