Hydrolyzed Tomato Skin is a liquid water-soluble ingredient that contains a carotenoid lycopene. This biotechnological ingredient is derived from natural and renewable raw material a by-product from the food industry.
Several authors have studied the interaction between lycopene and the natural defenses of our organism to counteract oxidative stress and to decrease the UV-induced minimal erythema dose.
Hydrolyzed tomato skin has a natural origin, is absolutely safe, and is ideal for pre-sun skincare application and more generally for protective preparations. It is very easy to use, so formulators can just add it to the water phase of a cosmetic formulation.
