Kombuchka

Kombuchka is an organic ingredient (fermented tea) that smooths, refreshes, and re-densifies the skin. It adds radiance, enhances collagen quantity, and improves the overall skin quality (anti-aging effect).

Kombuchka contains B group vitamins, organic acids, and theine (a type of caffeine - that occurs in tea). As a result, its "lipo-filling" effect offers a non-invasive, natural way to smoother, younger, more radiant skin.

At the same time, its strong anti-glycation activity helps protect the integrity of collagen and elastin, which is vital for the skin to sustain its youth. Restoring and preserving the bloom of youth, Kombuchka is a cosmetic alternative to lipid replenishment treatments.

History

When traditions and customs concerning the preparation of plants or natural ferments contribute to good health in numerous testimonials and those proven facts are subsequently explained in scientific terms, the interest is general and the desire to discover all the beneficial effects irresistible. Preparation of black tea fermented by a yeast-bacterium symbiotic, the Kombucha beverage (also named the 'long-life mushroom beverage') is rich in a wide variety of substances: oligosaccharides, glucuronic acid with detoxifying properties, tannins, and gallates with antioxidant properties and numerous vitamins of the B series.

Given the numerous claims concerning the curative qualities of the Kombucha beverage, a systematic investigation of the cosmetic properties of Kombucha-fermented black tea, hitherto not investigated, provided an entirely natural new cosmetically active substance: Kombuchka™. This product is obtained by fermentation of white, green, or black sugared tea. Preferably Xylinum bacterium and Saccharomyces yeast are used in combination; however, many variants are possible without substantially altering the final properties. The efficacy of this natural ingredient has been tested and proven both in vitro and in vivo - Kombuchka™ improves firmness and smoothness and unifies the complexion.

F.A.Q.

Waht is Kombuchka?

Kombuchka is a trademark in the cosmetics industry. The active ingredient is Kombucha - a fermentation product of sweetened black tea. Fermentation occurs due to two microorganisms, bacteria, and yeast. Yeast converts the sugar into alcohol, and bacteria consume the alcohol and produce acetic acid, which adds an acidic taste to the final product.

What are the benefits of Kombucha for the skin?

Kombucha has a lot of traditional and scientific proven benefits:

  • Anti-aging properties - it inhibits the activity of collagenase and elastase enzymes, which enhances the quantity of collagen and elastin in the skin and makes it smooth, resilient, and youthful.
  • Antiseptic and probiotic properties - used for acne treatment.
  • Antioxidant activity - contains flavonoids (from tea leaves and fermentation products), which protect the skin from oxidation, UV radiation, and cancer.
  • Anti-glycation activity - effects on the adipocyte cell population of the skin (re-densifying and radiance effect).

Can I put Kombucha on my face?

Kombucha has traditionally been used for acne treatment. It contains an ethyl acetate and acetic acid fraction, which has antiseptic properties.

So the answer is yes, you can put it on your face, but it's undesirable to use Kombucha stand-alone.

Kombucha has low pH of 2.5-3.5 as acetic acid is average strength organic acid, and it'll change the pH balance (should be 5.5) of the skin. Therefore, we recommend using skincare products containing Kombuchka, which will have other ingredients, balancing pH and potentiating beneficial effects on the skin.
