Manilkara Multinervis Leaf Extract is a brown-to-red syrupy liquid or pink-to-beige powder, a cosmetic active ingredient obtained from the leaves of the African Manilkara with an anti-aging effect. It has a dual protective impact on structural proteins collagen and elastin. Thanks to the comprehensive protection of the extracellular matrix, Manilkara Multinervis leaf extract improves skin resilience. These protective effects have been demonstrated in tests on skin biopsies and in vitro on fibroblasts.

Protecting the functionality of the elastic fiber network, it targets and boosts elastin-associated structural proteins EMILIN-1 and FIBULIN-5 production while exhibiting anti-elastase activity (elastase is an enzyme responsible for elastin destruction). In addition, Manilkara Multinervis leaf extract boosts elastin precursor tropoelastin synthesis and allows newly synthesized elastic fibers to organize correctly.

Besides elastin, Manilkara Multinervis leaf extract also stimulates collagen I and glycosaminoglycans (GAGs) production (in-vitro studies). It effectively fights against stretch marks, reduces overall skin roughness, and increases elasticity by up to 10%.

Furthermore, it inhibits collagen and elastin glycation, a harmful aging process where structural proteins lose their functionality and organization. Preserving structural proteins, Manilkara Multinervis leaf extract enhances skin tonicity while improving firmness and elasticity and lessening the appearance of stretch marks.
