Polygonum Bistorta Root Extract is obtained from the root of Bistort and is rich in chlorogenic acid, gallic acid, and polyphenols. The natural phytocomplex acts against the signs of skin aging by inhibiting enzymes responsible for degrading hyaluronic acid, elastin, and collagen in the extracellular matrix.

Furthermore, Polygonum Bistorta Root Extract possesses antioxidative, wrinkle-reducing, and moisturizing properties. In an in-vitro test on human keratinocytes, a CAC (cellular antioxidant capacity assay) revealed a 32% reduction of oxidative stress within the living keratinocytes after applying 32% Polygonum Bistorta Root Extract.

Bistort root extract reduces the signs of skin aging, protecting extracellular matrix components by inhibiting hyaluronidase, collagenase, and elastase enzymes. It reduces wrinkles and improves elasticity and moisturization (proved by in-vivo testing).
