Sorrel (Rumex acetosa, also known as common sheep or garden sorrel) is a perennial edible medicinal herb common in Europe and Asia. Thanks to their unique bioactive properties, Rumex acetosa leaves have been used in oriental medicine for centuries.

The common sorrel extract is a natural remedy against spider veins thanks to an antiplatelet effect. In addition, it has a vasodilator (relaxes small vessels) action that, with a combination of platelet modulation, improves the skin's blood microcirculation boosting renewal and recovery, especially after exfoliation.

Sheep sorrel leaf extract contains small amounts of oxalic acid, which creates soluble complexes with iron-containing pigments, enhancing their elimination from the skin and brightening complexion. Rich in flavonoids, Rumex acetosa is a potent antioxidant that protects skin cell membranes and DNA from free radicals and oxidative stress.
