PEG/PPG-25/25 Dimethicone/Acrylates Copolymer is a product of a reaction of t-butyl acrylate, methacrylic acid, and dimethicone copolyol, an anionic film-forming agent with silicone surfactant for hair setting. It is a colorless to faint yellow, clear to slightly opalescent 50% solution in ethanol with a characteristic odor.

PEG/PPG-25/25 Dimethicone/Acrylates Copolymer is a silicone-containing anionic polymer product. The acid groups must be largely neutralized (70 – 100 %) before it is used in hair-setting products. This is usually done with AMP. After neutralization, it forms clear 5 % (solids) solutions in ethanol, isopropanol, and an 8:2 ethanol-water mixture at room temperature. Thus, it is ideal for hairsprays with little or no water content (VOC 80 to VOC 100 formulations).

PEG/PPG-25/25 Dimethicone/Acrylates Copolymer is typically used as a hair fixative polymer in aerosol and pump sprays and lotions. In addition to the usual properties such as very good curl retention, hold, combability, and low tac.,

Thanks to its unique sensory properties, PEG/PPG-25/25 Dimethicone/Acrylates Copolymer gives the hair a pleasant silky/soft feel before and after combing and a natural flexible hold. It has clear advantages over other commonly used acrylic polymers: it is less prone to flaking, has superior washing-out properties, and gives a softer, more flexible, and less hard hold.
