Polyamide-2 is a unique polymer developed to provide broad-spectrum UV protection in leave-on and rinse-off hair care applications. It represents a quantum leap in effective UV protection for hair.

Polyamide-2 is a multifunctional UV-absorbing polymer, for use in both leave-on and rinse-off hair care products, including shampoos, conditioners, and non-aerosol hair styling products, designed to provide substantive, broad-spectrum UV-A and UV-B protection to hair.

Protecting the hair fiber structure, Polyamide-2 shields it inside and out, against damage caused by sun exposure. It works in both leave-on and rinse-off formulations over a broad pH range, from 4 to 10. It exhibits an excellent toxicity profile, is fully soluble in water, and is available in liquid form.

Thanks to excellent compatibility, Polyamide-2 can be combined with anionic and nonionic thickening agents, a variety of surfactants, and even up to 95% alcohol. It is usually used in 1% - 1.4% concentrations.
