Polyquaternium-6

Polyquaternium-6 is a conditioning polymer that is an aqueous solution of the highly charged cationic homopolymer of diallyl dimethyl ammonium chloride (DADMAC). It is a clear, light yellow viscous liquid with a mild aldehydic odor.

Polyquaternium-6 is a highly charged cationic water-soluble homo-polymer recommended for conditioning dry or chemically treated hair. It is used in ethnic hair care as well as skin care applications.

In skincare products, Polyquaternium-6 imparts a smooth and velvety feel, reducing the tightness of after-drying skin. Providing excellent moisturization, this ingredient contributes excellent lubricity that can help make skin care products easier to apply. In addition, it enhances and stabilizes foam in liquid cleansing products.

Incorporated in hair care products, Polyquaternium-6 delivers a luster, soft, and silky feel while providing outstanding slip, lubricity, and snag-free wet and dry combability. It is usually used in 1-3% concentrations.
