Phenyl Trimethicone is a phenyl-substituted silicone fluid. It is a clear, viscous liquid polymer with a good refractive index of 1.498 and chemical stability against oxidation. It is chemically inert and compatible with other ingredients in the formulation, including organic materials and 95% ethanol.
Thanks to increased stability and UV adsorbing properties, Phenyl Trimethicone improves the SPF of sunscreens while providing gloss and sheen to hair care products and offering emollience and water repellency to skin care products. This ingredient is used in hair gloss sprays, skincare, and makeup applications for its gloss, soft, and non-greasy properties.
