PCA Ethyl Cocoyl Arginate is a cationic surfactant derived from L-Arginine (an amino acid), coconut oil fatty acid, ethyl alcohol, and PCA (a natural moisturizing factor: NMF). It is characterized as a conditioning agent mild to the skin and eyes. It is more hydrophilic than traditional cationic surfactants.

PCA Ethyl Cocoyl Arginate is a white crystalline powder and has a slight characteristic odor. It exhibits excellent safety, with very low skin and eye mucosa irritation, even in high concentrations. In addition, it has a remarkable antimicrobial effect.

Incorporated in hair care applications, PCA Ethyl Cocoyl Arginate provides excellent antistatic and softening effects on hair. It is a rapidly biodegradable and eco-friendly ingredient.

Useful as a cationic surfactant in cosmetics and disinfecting detergents, PCA Ethyl Cocoyl Arginate's applications include:
  • Personal Care: antimicrobial soaps, toothpaste, house rinses, etc.
  • Skin Care: creams, lotions, tonics, etc.
  • Hair Care: shampoos, conditioners, hair tonics, etc.
  • Household: disinfecting detergents.
