Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax is a natural ingredient for the personal care and pharmaceutical industries. It is obtained from the shrub Euphorbia Cerifera, which grows in Mexico and southern Texas.

Candelilla Wax is well suited to the preparation of wax products where resistance to heat and higher melting points are desired. It blends easily with fatty acids and other waxes.

Its chemical composition includes hydrocarbons 50-65%, esters 20-21%, hydroxylated esters 6.0-8.0%, free acids 7.0-10%, sterols 7.0-8.0%, and resins 5.0-6.0%. The melting point is about  68-73°C.

Euphorbia Cerifera Wax is compatible with most natural and synthetic waxes, oils, and resins. It is used in personal care, pharmaceutical, food, and industrial applications. FDA approval: 21 CFR 184.
