PEG-5 Castor Oil is an ethoxylated (5 mole) castor oil derivative, an oil-soluble liquid emulsifier. It has a short polyethylene glycol chain, so it is soluble in oils and insoluble in water. HLB value of 4.

PEG-5 Castor Oil is used as a pigment dispersant, solubilizer, and wetting agent. It is known under the trade name Lumulse™ CO-5.

PEG-5 Castor Oil is resistant to hydrolysis and may be used in various acidic and alkaline formulations. It can also enhance the gelling properties of other surfactants in water-in-oil emulsions.
