Dipentaerythrityl Pentaisononanoate is a transparent and glossy ester of isononanoic acid with a pentaerythritol dimer used in decorative cosmetics, skin, and hair care applications. It provides a flashy, wet look and volume, enhancing the gloss of products.

In addition, Dipentaerythrityl Pentaisononanoate provides comfort and a gloss finish in lipsticks. It is used to achieve new textures in skin care products like a "cocoon" or "textile" sensory profile, compatible with the skin's movements. This ingredient is known under the trade name Dub Vinyl as the "textile" effect, like the "Vinyl" touch.

Dipentaerythrityl Pentaisononanoate exhibits high stability and substantivity, is nonsticky, and has a gloss effect. It can act as a film-forming agent with a plastic-elastic texture.

During tolerance evaluation tests, Dipentaerythrityl Pentaisononanoate showed the following results. It is nonirritant for the skin and slightly irritant for the eyes; no clinical intolerance was noticed. In short, it has good skin tolerance but is not recommended for eye care products and cosmetics for the eye area.
