Glycol Distearate is a diester of stearic acid with ethylene glycol, a waxy solid used as an emulsifier (HLB value of ~ 5.5), emulsion stabilizer, and opacifier. It is widely used as an emollient and viscosity builder in creams and lotions and as opacifying and pearlizing agent in surfactant systems. It is typically used at 0.5-4%.
