Isostearyl Hydroxystearate
Isostearyl Hydroxystearate is a completely vegetable-derived ester. It is a soft solid (paste) at 25°C miscible in natural and mineral warm oils, dispersible with ethanol, and insoluble in water and propylene glycol. Its melting point is about 25 – 30°C.
Incorporated in skin care applications, Isostearyl Hydroxystearate acts as an occlusive emollient, reducing transdermal moisture loss. It is a safe ingredient, non-irritating to skin and eyes, and orally non-toxic.
