PPG-3 Benzyl Ether Myristate is a multifunctional emollient ester that provides all of the benefits of silicone, a silicone-like shine, and similar feel characteristics, plus additional benefits unavailable with silicones. It is an off-white liquid with a low odor.

PPG-3 Benzyl Ether Myristate is non-volatile, safer to use, and has no drying effects on the skin; it is easily emulsified and can help stabilize high silicone load emulsions; it has broader compatibility with other ingredients (Cyclomethicone; dispersible in dimethicone) and better dispersibility in water.

Unlike silicone, PPG-3 Benzyl Ether Myristate shows little spontaneous spreading on the skin. It forms films that aid in sunscreen deposition and help in reducing the dry-off of essential oils.

PPG-3 Benzyl Ether Myristate is can wet pigments and solid UV filters, giving it more multi-functionality than silicone in both makeup and sunscreens. It stabilizes emulsions, enhances gloss/shine, solubilizes sunscreen ingredients, and eliminates whitening/soaping.

It is used in many antiperspirants, liquid makeup, sunscreens, shampoos & conditioners, creams & lotions, lip care, and treatment products. PPG-3 Benzyl Ether Myristate concentration can be 0.5 to 50 % in formulation.
