Soyethyl Morpholinium Ethosulfate

Soyethyl Morpholinium Ethosulfate is a cationic surfactant that effectively deodorizes a wide range of malodors. It functions by complexing or neutralizing specific organic molecules and reducing their concentration in the vapor phase.

Soyethyl Morpholinium Ethosulfate is particularly effective against organic acids responsible for body odor. It also complexes sulfur compounds produced by various hair care products, such as home permanents or depilatories.

Incorporated in hair care applications, Soyethyl Morpholinium Ethosulfate offers dual functionality. First, it is a unique deodorizer that neutralizes various malodors by forming a complex. Second, it is a highly effective cationic hair conditioner that reduces static flyaway and leaves hair soft, shiny, and manageable. It improves wet combability and does not build up with frequent use. It is water soluble and compatible with anionics, generally used in shampoos.

Independent laboratory tests have shown that Soyethyl Morpholinium Ethosulfate neutralizes malodors like amyl mercaptan, butyric acid, cabbage juice, or tobacco smoke. The Uniqema Personal Care Laboratory has demonstrated that it reduces the unpleasant odors associated with home permanents and depilatories. For example, 2% Soyethyl Morpholinium Ethosulfate in waving lotion and neutralizer lotion neutralized the mercaptan odor of permed hair. Soyethyl Morpholinium Ethosulfate is also effective as a post-treatment rinse to deodorize and condition the hair.

Laboratory tests have shown that Soyethyl Morpholinium Ethosulfate is a highly effective conditioner for hair. It is comparable to other commercial quaterniums in terms of wet or dry combability and reduced static charge. Moreover, it does not build up when used repeatedly.
