Acetyl Octapeptide-17 Amide is a synthetic peptide that mimics a functional part of EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor) with sequence Ac-Met-Leu-Lys-Glu-Trp-Glu-Leu-Arg-NH2. It is known under the trade names Dermacurin and Mini EGF.
Thanks to the low molecular weight, Acetyl Octapeptide-17 Amide has an excellent skin permeation rate and enhanced stability compared to the wild-type EGF that contains 53 amino acids. It binds to the EGF receptor, promoting epithelial cell proliferation and stimulating fibroblasts' collagen production.
With aging, the concentration of growth factors, including EGF, decreases, resulting in slow regeneration, reduced elasticity, and wrinkles formation. Applied topically, Acetyl Octapeptide-17 Amide boosts regeneration processes in the skin, fighting against signs of aging, increasing elasticity, and improving appearance.
