Arginine/Lysine Polypeptide is a 40% dry extract solution ( p/p ) composed of L-lysine and L-arginine oligopeptide with a degree of polymerization from 2 to 7, obtained by a solvent-free process, enzymatic synthesis. It stimulates the production and deposition of extracellular matrix structural components, including Collagen I, III, V, GAGs (glycosaminoglycans), and proteoglycan Decorin.
In addition, Arginine/Lysine Polypeptide inhibits anarchic reticulation of collagen. Due to its structure rich in lysine and arginine, it acts as a sugar "trap," when sugars are found in excess in cutaneous interstitial liquids, by limiting the inter- and intramolecular cross-linking in collagen fibres.
Arginine/Lysine Polypeptide also lessens the release of MMP-1, a metalloproteinase responsible for collagen destruction, preserving dermal integrity.
Thanks to its triple action, Arginine/Lysine Polypeptide slows down the aging processes in the skin and boosts regeneration, revealing a firmer, youthful, and healthier-looking appearance.
