sh-Polypeptide-2

sh-Polypeptide-2 is a synthetic recombinant analog of human Thioredoxin (TRX) that stimulates dermal cell growth and proliferation and protects them from oxidative stress. Thioredoxin is a natural cytoprotector peptide present in all human cells.

TRX is localized in the cytoplasm of cells and under oxidative stress it quickly moves into the nucleus, protecting the cell from damage. Thanks to potent antioxidant action, it reduces free radicals, preventing skin cells' programmed death (apoptosis) while reinforcing the skin’s defenses.

sh-Polypeptide-2 (former rh-Oligopeptide-4; rh-Polypeptide-2) reduces the number of free radicals, and forms disulfide bonds in proteins, promoting the formation of the correct tertiary structure of protein molecules.

sh-Polypeptide-2 modulates the ability of the transcriptional factor to bind to DNA controlling dermal cell growth and organization, visibly providing a gorgeous uplifted appearance and brighter complexion. It promotes the generation of new skin cells reducing existing lines and wrinkles and preventing the formation of new wrinkles.
