This White Lily (Lilium Candidum) was popular among ancient Greeks and Romans. The Church of the Madonna revered it because its delicate whiteness was considered a symbol of purity.

The bulbs of Lilium Candidum are used externally in decoctions as emollient poultices for tumors, ulcers, and skin inflammations. The fresh bulb, bruised and applied to hard tumors, softens and ripens them sooner than other applications.

Lilium Candidum bulbs have also been used in ointments to remove corns and the pain and inflammation of burns and scalds. This ointment is said to heal burns with out leaving a scar. It is considered to have demulcent and astringent properties.

Lilium Candidum Bulb Extract is a light to medium amber liquid with a characteristic odor. The extract of the white lily bulb can be used in creams, lotions, gels, ointments, toners, and other skin and treatment products.
