Wild Indigo (Tephrosia Purpurea) is an Ayurvedic traditional medicinal growing in Indian and Sri Lanka. Traditionally it has been used for treating snake bites, as an antihelmintic against parasitic worms, and antipyretic to reduce fever. Tephrosia Purpurea's also known thanks to its anti‐ulcer, antiallergic, and hepatoprotective properties.

Wild Indigo seed extract contains numerous compounds with a positive action on the skin, including:

  • antioxidant
  • anti-stress
  • skin whitening
  • firming

Tephrosia Purpurea seed extract rich in polyphenols protects skin cells from oxidative stress and UV-induced damage. In addition, it promotes the production of antioxidant proteins, naturally protecting skin from free radicals.

Wild Indigo seed extract suppresses cortisol (stress hormone) production up to 70% in dermal keratinocytes and stimulates beta‐endorphin and dopamine (well-being hormones), preserving skin homeostasis.

Feururemore, this natural extract can inhibit tyrosinase and collagenase enzymes. Tyrosinase is a critical enzyme in melanin production, so Tephrosia Purpurea fights against dark spots and hyperpigmentation of mature skin. Inhibition of collagenase preserves skin's structural fibers (collagen) from destruction, providing natural elasticity and firmness.

Wild Indigo seed extract is a perfect natural ingredient for anti-aging formulations acting in multiple ways to reveal youthful, healthy, and smooth skin.
