This polymer is a proven counter-irritant that reduces the irritation potential of surfactants, even with mild variations.

Thanks to its extraordinary thickening property, PEG-150 Pentaerythrityl Tetrastearate is more effective than PEG-150 Distearate or PEF-120 Methyl Glucose Dioleate. It is also one of the most efficient thickeners available because it can thicken better, even when used at levels of 40% below what is typical for these conventional thickeners.

Surfactant solutions like those containing sodium lauroyl sarcosinate tend to yield low-viscosity systems but can be thickened with PEG-150 Pentaerythrityl Tetrastearate. In fact, it has been cited in the literature for its thickening effects in a clear, acid-balanced shampoo (pH 5.7) containing sodium lauroyl sarcosinate.
