PEG-20 Glyceryl Stearate is an emulsifier, thickener, and dispersant. It is a white semi-solid with a low melt point and an HLB of 13-15.
PEG-20 Glyceryl Stearate is also a viscosity builder, irritancy mitigator, oil solubilizer, oil-in-water emulsifier for creams and rinses, and a stabilizer for conditioning additives (e.g. in 2-in-1 shampoos). It is typically used at 2-10%.
