Dimethiconol Panthenol

When the reactive Amodimethicone Soya Ammonium Chloride condenses with Dl-Panthenol and forms a substantive polymer Dimethiconol Panthenol, its former designation was Panthenol Amino Dimethicone.

During the emulsion's dry-down, the emulsion, which has amino functional groups in the silicone moiety and is cationic, enhances the substantivity of the Dl-Panthenol to the hair. The reactive silicone emulsion gives greater substantivity to the vitamin due to the silicone's polymerization effects.

The reactive Dimethylpolysiloxane Fluid enables polymerization on the hair and skin, while  Panthenol provides conditioning, antioxidant, moisturizing, protective, and other beneficial effects.

Dimethiconol Panthenol is supplied as a water-dispersible milky liquid with 37±1% solids content. It is used in shampoos, rinse-out, and leave-in hair conditioners. Its use levels range from 1% to 2%.
