Panthenol is the analog or provitamin of Vitamin B5 (also called pantothenic acid), as it is quickly oxidized in cells to pantothenic acid. Vitamin B5 is used as a wound-healing accelerator and a moisturizer. It widely used in pharmaceutical and cosmetic products.

Vitamin B5 improves and increases the skin‘s ability to retain moisture, replenishes, with an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effect, stimulates metabolic activities, and improves cell condition.
