Isopropyl Lauroyl Sarcosinate is a derivative of plant-derived palm fatty acids and sarcosine with isopropyl alcohol. In personal care applications it serves as a potent solubilizer, polar emollient, viscosity modifier, and sensory enhancer.

It is a colorless or pale yellow viscous liquid, almost odorless, with good spreadability on the skin. Thanks to molecular structure, Isopropyl Lauroyl Sarcosinate is a highly polar emollient that enables the incorporation of poorly soluble ingredients (e.g. ceramides) in complex formulations, while improving the stability of a final product.

This amino acid-based ingredient has an excellent wetting property for pigments in decorative cosmetics and inorganic/organic UV filters in sun care preparations, exhibiting good compatibility with other active ingredients.

With excellent skin affinity, smooth spreadability, and good sensory profile, Isopropyl Lauroyl Sarcosinate is a useful ingredient in many skin, hair, lip, and sun care products. Produced from renewable botanical raw materials and easily biodegradable, it has a low sensitization profile (only a few cases of contact allergic reactions are described in scientific literature), which makes it an eco-friendly, safe, and multifunctional modern ingredient for personal care formulations.
