Octylsilylated Titanium Dioxide is a sunscreen complex based on TiO2 coated with trimethoxycaprylylsilane. It is known under the trade name Uvinul® TiO2. It is a white powder without odor.
Octylsilylated Titanium Dioxide is used as an inorganic UV-blocking and reflecting agent in sunscreens and other sun care formulations. It improves SPF values and is usually combined with organic UV absorbers.
The information available on Octylsilylated Titanium Dioxide does not indicate any toxicity risk if the application and the concentrations used are as recommended.
