AMP or aminomethyl propanol (2-Amino-2-methylpropanol) is used to adjust the pH in cosmetics. It is a colorless or slightly yellow liquid.
Aminomethyl propanol is used in hair sprays for controlling the solubility of film-forming resins. It makes the final film resistant to water. In addition, it forms a gel with long-chain acrylic polymers allowing formulators to achieve the needed consistency of the final product.
