Benzyl Laurate is an ester of Benzyl alcohol and Lauric acid, a clear yellow liquid. It is soluble in mineral oil, Jojoba oil, Almond oil, isopropyl myristate, Cyclomethicone, PPG10 Butanediol, and SD Alcohol 40B. Benzyl Laurate is miscible with octyl methoxycinnamate and insoluble in dimethicone, propylene glycol, glycerin, and water.

The light emollient ester, Benzyl Laurate, provides lubricity without oiliness and reduces the greasy feel of mineral oil and sunscreen actives on the skin. It is readily emulsified into creams and lotions or solubilized into transparent systems such as shower gels and bath oils, where its ready emulsification contributes to a dramatic bloom.
