Decyloxazolidinone is a heterocyclic organic compound with an oxazolidine ring and lipophilic decyl (C10 - 10 carbon atom chain) "tail". Thanks to structural similarity with a famous antibiotic Furazolidone in an oxazolidine ring, this ingredient also exhibits a significant antibacterial action useful in preparations against acne and other skin infections.

Other functions of Decyloxazolidinone weren't well studied, but manufacturers mention its skin conditioning, emollient, and surfactant action. It is also used as a plasticizer, permeation enhancer, and preservative booster. Decyloxazolidinone may be useful in cleansing, sanitizing, and anti-acne applications.

It is not an eco-friendly ingredient, as Decyloxazolidinone is dangerous for organisms living in the water environment.
