Diisostearyl Malate is a liquid diester of an alpha hydroxy acid. This ester exhibits an excellent skin feel characterized by cushion and emolliency, leaving the skin soft and supple.

Diisostearyl Malate is a slightly hazy, viscous liquid with a slight characteristic odor. It is insoluble in water, ethanol, and propylene glycol and miscible with natural and mineral oils. Its saponification value is in the 165 – 180 range, and its hydroxyl value is 70 – 90.

Thanks to its solubility in oils and silicones, Diisostearyl Malate can be formulated with these materials in various cosmetic products. It is also suitable for lipstick and lip products, as well as make-up and skin formulations. Depending on the formulation type, its use levels are 2 – 10%.
