Ethylhexyl Benzoate is an ester of benzoic acid, 2-Ethylhexyl (branched chain) alcohol that provides excellent solubilization for active ingredients and solids for sunscreens. It has a light dry feel and provides moisturization that leaves a soft, smooth after-feel on the skin. It is a clear, almost colorless liquid.

Ethylhexyl Benzoate is a valuable ingredient for all types of personal care products due to its light, dry feel, and quick absorbency. Ethylhexyl Benzoate demonstrates high solvency properties which makes it an excellent solubilizer for sunscreen preparations. As an added benefit, it can be used to effectively enhance moisturization and emollience similar to petrolatum but without the greasy after feel.
