Isoamyl Laurate is an ester of lauric acid with isopentanol (Isoamyl alcohol) derived from vegetable raw materials. It is a colorless liquid with low viscosity.

Isoamyl Laurate is a multifunctional ingredient suitable for natural-based personal care products. Thanks to its low surface tension and viscosity, it is used as a cosmetic oil that enhances cosmetic product spreadability and skin feel. It is ideally suitable for color makeup, creams, and baby care applications.

Due to its polar nature, Isoamyl Laurate exhibits good solubilizing, pigment- and UV filter-dispersing properties and is used in many sun care applications, decorative cosmetics, and cleansing products. Its sensory profile is similar to that of silicon-based polymers, so it can be a perfect naturally derived replacement for those emollients.

Isoamyl Laurate is non-irritating to skin and eyes, so it is used in eye creams and other products for the eye area. It is a safe ingredient widely used in cosmetic products, and no adverse effects have been reported regarding dermal irritation or sensitization. In addition, it has low aquatic toxicity and is classified as a readily biodegradable ingredient.
