Stearyl Glycyrrhetinate is a white or yellowish-white powder, a Glycyrrhizin (or glycyrrhizic acid) ester derivative. It has increased oil solubility that allows its usage in a greater range of cosmetic formulas to be prepared and truly produce a finished product with effective anti-inflammatory properties.
Stearyl Glycyrrhetinate has similar properties to glycyrrhetinic acid useful in skin care applications. It is a soothing, antibacterial, and skin-conditioning ingredient. It also can diminish skin inflammation and irritation after sun exposure.
Stearyl Glycyrrhetinate is used in many creams, lotions, sun care, after-sun care products, lipsticks, and makeup. The useage level is usually 0.1～0.5%.
