Acetyl Dipeptide-3 Aminohexanoate (sequence Ac-Arg-Ala-Ahx-OH) also known under the trade name Bodyfensine® is a tripeptide that boosts the skin's natural peptidic protection against harmful microbes. It stimulates the production of peptides called defensins responsible for the first line of antimicrobial protection of the skin.

Applied topically, Acetyl Dipeptide-3 Aminohexanoate enhances the expression of genes of two human beta-defensins (hBD-2 and hBD-3) increasing their production by keratinocytes respectively by 26 and 10%. Raised amounts for this ß-defensins improve the balance of the beneficial and harmful bacteria on the skin, protecting it from acne and various infections and exposing a healthy, youthful, and stunning appearance.

Incorporated in skin and oral care applications, Acetyl Dipeptide-3 Aminohexanoate reinforces the natural shield of the body from microbial invasion, speeds up wound healing and recovery, and improves appearance especially noticeable for acne-prone skin.
