Acetyl Tetrapeptide-15 is a peptide ingredient based on a unique mechanism of action, mainly targeting neuro-sensitive skin, able to reduce the nerve response to external stimuli. It limits the release of pro-inflammatory neuromediators (CGRP) and lowers the response of the sensory nerves to external stimuli.

Binding to the μ opioid receptor on nerve endings, Acetyl Tetrapeptide-15 mimics endomorphin-2 repeating a part of its sequence (Tyr-Pro-Phe-Phe-NH2). Incorporated in skin care applications, it increases the skin's tolerance threshold, reducing sensations of pain and discomfort and making the skin less reactive to different stimuli and sensations.

While becoming increasingly targeted and "smart", recent skin care products may tend to generate discomfort on very sensitive skin, especially applications for microdermabrasion and peeling. Acetyl Tetrapeptide-15 is a targeted and "smart" solution for sensitive skin, that acts as a neuro-cosmeceutical soothing agent preventing excessive response to modern treatments and procedures.
