Hexapeptide-3 is a synthetic biomimetic peptide (with the sequence: Ala-Asp-Leu-Lys-Pro-Thr) that mimics fibronectin found in skin extracellular matrix (ECM) and is involved in tissue repair, wound healing, and cell adhesion. Repeating an important functional part of fibronectin, Hexapeptide-3 mimics its physiological functions improving cell adhesion, organization of cutaneous tissue, and exposing healthy and young-looking skin.

Hexapeptide-3 promotes the production of ECM proteins while improving the adhesion between dermal cells, providing a noticeable anti-aging effect and improving the appearance of the skin. In addition, it enhances the expression of genes responsible for integrins synthesis, increasing a signal for skin repair.

Incorporated in skin care preparations, Hexapeptide-3 enhances skin smoothness and improves hydration. It has a good pulping and rejuvenating effect on lips and is used in many high-end lip-care applications.
