Hexapeptide-94 Gamma Dipeptide-4 is a synthetic octapeptide with the sequence H-Arg-Leu-Arg-Trp-Arg-γ-Glu-Cys-Gly-OH. It is also known under the trade name Whitening peptide-1.
Hexapeptide-94 Gamma Dipeptide-4 exhibits a skin-whitening effect by inhibiting melanin production. It reduces melanin production at the intracellular and extracellular levels by 50%, demonstrating a powerful skin-brightening ability.
Arbutin is one of the most frequently utilized and well-studied skin-whitening agents used as a positive control in melanin-regulating ingredient research. According to the manufacturer's claim, Hexapeptide-94 Gamma Dipeptide-4 possesses better skin-whitening performance than Arbutin without adverse effects.
