sh-Oligopeptide-85

sh-Oligopeptide-85 is a synthetic recombinant peptide, an analog of human Dyskerin involved in stabilizing to RNA molecules and ribosome biogenesis regulation. Dyskerin is encoded by the DKC1 gene, with mutations causing X-linked dyskeratosis congenita (X-DC), a premature aging syndrome with irregular dermal pigmentation, nail dystrophy, and mucosal leukoplakia.

Involved in intracellular processes like gene expression regulation, translation, and telomere maintenance, dyskerin plays an essential role in cell proliferation, DNA protection, and recovery. So, sh-Oligopeptide-85 leaves a significant anti-aging effect on a cellular level.

Solid phase synthesized analog, sh-Oligopeptide-85 SP is known under the trade name Tectum-11® developed and studied by a research group of the Higher Scientific Research Council (CSIC) that studies diseases characterized by alterations in the natural DNA repair machinery.

According to researchers, sh-Oligopeptide-85 SP improves the regeneration and renewal of damaged skin, protecting epidermal cells. It stabilizes the DNA repair machinery, and protects against oxidative stress, activating the production of antioxidant enzymes such as catalase (Cat) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) which eliminate free radicals ROS and NOS from cells.
