Tetrapeptide-53 is a synthetic peptide with sequence Ile-Tyr-Phe-Tyr and hair-growth-promoting activity. It is known under the trade name CG-Hairstin.

Tetrapeptide-53 prevents hair loss while leaving an outstanding hair restorative effect by indicating cell proliferation in the hair follicles. Most importantly, it enables skin tissue to produce hair follicles, creating new hair follicles and increasing their density.

Furthermore, Tetrapeptide-53 stimulates beta-catenin and enhances the expression of the growth-promoting genes, boosting the production of growth factors implicated in hair growth. It maintains the hair growth period and stabilizes the hair cycle impaired by different environmental damaging factors, exhibiting hair loss reducing action.
