Centella Asiatica or Gotu Kola is an edible and medicinal plant used for centuries known as a "panacea" (curing all diseases) about 3000 years ago. Centella Asiatica extract is rich in saponins (centelloids), flavonoids, phenolic acids, triterpene steroids, amino acids, and oligosaccharides. Thus, it exhibits antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, moisturizing, and barrier-replenishing effects on the skin.

Among the numerous substances, the most bio-active and beneficial compounds in Gotu Kola are:

  • Asiaticoside enhances collagen production and angiogenesis, speeding up wound healing and skin renewal. In addition, it has noticeable antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Madecassoside soothes most irritated, itching, or desquamating skin. It suits even for most sensitive skin.
  • Asiatic and madecassic acids stimulate collagen synthesis, improve wound healing, and protect cell membranes from oxidation.
